What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file that a website places on your device when you visit. Cookies let a site remember things about you between page loads and visits — for example, that you are logged in, or what language you prefer. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, and pixel tags.
What we use
SchoolIntel uses a small set of first-party cookies and one third-party analytics tool. The list below is exhaustive.
Categories of cookies we use
| Name | Purpose | Duration | Category |
|---|---|---|---|
si_session | Authenticated session for the SchoolIntel application | Session (cleared on logout) | Strictly necessary |
sb-access-token / sb-refresh-token | Supabase authentication tokens | 1 hour / 30 days | Strictly necessary |
si_csrf | Cross-site request forgery protection | Session | Strictly necessary |
si_preferences | Stores UI preferences (e.g. last-used view, sidebar collapsed state) | 12 months | Functional |
ph_* | PostHog product analytics — measures aggregated usage of features and pages | Up to 12 months | Analytics |
Strictly necessary
These cookies are required to deliver the Services you request — for example, signing you in and keeping the session secure. They cannot be turned off without breaking the application.
Functional
These cookies remember your interface preferences so the application behaves the way you left it. You can clear them in your browser at any time without losing access to the Services.
Analytics
We use PostHog to understand how customers use the platform in aggregate, so we know which features to improve. PostHog is configured to ignore email and other identifiers. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
What we don't use
SchoolIntel does not set or accept third-party advertising cookies. We do not participate in cross-site advertising networks. We do not run retargeting pixels (Facebook Pixel, Google Ads conversion pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag, etc.) on the marketing website.
How to control cookies
You can manage cookies through your browser settings. The links below explain how:
Disabling strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from using the SchoolIntel application. Disabling analytics cookies is fine and has no effect on the Services you receive.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
We honor the Global Privacy Control signal. If your browser sends GPC, we will not load analytics cookies. We do not respond to legacy “Do Not Track” headers because there is no consistent industry interpretation of that signal.
Changes to this policy
If we add, remove, or change cookies, we will update this page and the “Last updated” date. Material changes will be announced in-app or by email to active customers.
